History of the Ford Motor Company
Ford as you know is one of the most successful automotive brands in history. For the past 119 years, Ford has revolutionized the auto industry but how did it get there? Henry Ford (the founder) tried three times before establishing the automotive company you see today. How did he make his dreams a reality? Keep reading to find out how he finally made it happen.
Where it began
It all started in the year of 1908. Henry Ford converted a factory on Mack Avenue in Detroit. It was his third attempt at establishing an automotive company and like they say third times a charm. Although beginning production in 1903 Ford really saw its success with the Model T produced in 1908. It embodied what Henry Ford wanted in a car; efficiency, reliability, and a reasonable price for car buyers. Others saw that too and Ford had to expand to keep up with the high demand. That expansion resulted in Ford Motor Company commissioning its second location in Highland Park, Michigan. This is where Ford revolutionized the auto industry by introducing the first mass-production vehicle assembly line. With that change, he also raised the employee wage to $5 dollars a day, which was unheard of in 1914. Henry Ford wanted his employees to be able to afford the vehicles they were helping to produce while also having money to support their families. With the increase in production, happy employees, and a high demand Ford was Flourishing. It went on to help make army planes in the war, taking ownership of Lincoln, Mazda, and Land Rover to even avoiding bankruptcy when the market crashed.

How is Ford now
Ford is still one of the biggest automotive companies in the world! Producing over 350 million cars in the past 119 years! That is equivalent to building 8,797 cars per day, or an average of one new car every ten seconds ad with no plan to stop you can only expect more! Although the company has announced it won’t be producing passenger cars so you can see some models be phased out by the company. You can expect to see the mustang and Ford Active still be in production though. Ford has decided to focus on expanding their variety of electric vehicles as well as its pick ups. Fun fact the Ford F-series of pickups were the best selling vehicles in the late 20th and early 21st centuries! Its no wonder they are reprioritizing their focus! If you’re looking for a new electric vehicle or truck keep an eye out as thats where Ford is moving this upcoming year. In the meantime though if you want the best of both worlds in electric and trucks Ford did release the all new electric Ford F-150 Lightning! We have one on the lot if you want to make it yours!
