There are plenty of things to do when it comes to visiting the Flathead Valley, regardless of if you visit in the Summer or Winter.

Things to do in the Winter
Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort – Just outside of Whitefish, the Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort has amazing lodging, ski slopes, and restaurants. Whitefish Mountain also has summer events such as zip line tours, alpine slides, mountain biking, and more!
Blacktail Mountain – On the other side of the valley near Lakeside, the Blacktail Mountain Ski Resort offers more sceneic slopes, lodging and a resturant. Like Whitefish, Blacktail also offers hiking and biking in the summer season!
Snow Shoeing – Places like Glacier National Park and Lone Pine State Park offer snow shoeing during the winter season.
Snowmobile Rentals – Lastly, during the winter season you can rent snowmobiles through various entites, inlcuding Swan Mountain Snowmobiling which offers rentals and tours during the winter months.

Things to do in the Summer
Range Riders – Just a few minutes up the road from the Kalispell Ford Store, the Glacier Baseball team’s stadium can be found. General admisson tickets cost $12 per person and the season spans from May 2oth to August 31st. Watch professional baseball while eating amazing food. If you are in town during that time period you should definitely check it out!
Amazing Fun Center – The Amazing Fun Center in Coram, Montana, offers a variety of family-friendly attractions, including a two-level wooden maze, an 18-hole miniature golf course with mining-themed obstacles, electric bumper boats equipped with squirt guns, a quarter-mile go-kart track, and a bank shot basketball course with 19 uniquely shaped backboards. Located seven miles south of Glacier National Park’s West Entrance, the center operates seasonally, typically from 9:30 a.m. to dusk, weather permitting. Admission prices vary by activity, with options for individual tickets and bundled passes; children aged five and under can participate for free.
Flathead Lake – Flathead is the biggest natural freshwater lake in Western USA, it is also one of the cleanest lakes in the world. During the summer there are plenty of places to swim, and rent boats, kayaks, and paddle boards.
Glacier National Park – The crown jewel of Montana is undoubtedly Glacier National Park, whether you visit in the winter or summer the area is effortlessly beautiful. The park is less than an hour out of town from Kalispell and has plenty to do with dozens of trails, the famous going to the sun road and more!
Professional Bull Riding (PBR) – The Kalispell Auto Group PBR at Majestic Valley Arena on May 29–30, 2025, featuring top riders from the PBR Challenger Series facing off against elite bulls from 12-time Stock Contractor of the Year, Chad Berger. As one of the Flathead Valley’s most anticipated summer events, it promises high-impact rodeo action starting at 7:30 PM each night. Tickets range from $12 to $35
Fair – The Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo at Kalispell’s Flathead County Fairgrounds from August 12–17, 2025. Celebrating over 120 years of tradition with PRCA rodeo action, a major concert, carnival rides, and over 8,000 local exhibits. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children 6–12, and free for kids 5 and under.
