2020 Ford Escape Rear

What types of warranty coverage options are available to you when you purchase a new or pre-owned Ford? More than you might think! Whether you purchase a brand-new, used, or CPO Ford, you can rest easy with a Ford warranty in your corner. Below, we delve more into what you can expect from a Ford manufacturer warranty for new and pre-owned vehicles alike!

Ford Warranty for New Vehicles

Cruise through Columbia Falls with greater peace of mind, thanks to the new Ford warranty coverage you’ll receive. All brand-new Ford vehicles come backed by the following warranties:

  • New Vehicle Limited Warranty: 3 years/36,000 miles
  • Limited Powertrain Warranty: 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Diesel Engine Coverage: 5 years/100,000 miles
  • Corrosion Warranty: 5 years/unlimited miles
  • Safety Restraint Warranty: 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Emissions Defect Warranty: Up to 8 years/80,000 miles
  • Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Unique Component Coverage: 8 years/80,000 miles

Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

If you want to extend the coverage for your Ford vehicle, you have the following extended warranty options:

  • PowertrainCARE — covers 29 components of your Ford within the engine, transmission, RWD system, and FWD system. Some components aren’t covered, but all major ones are protected. The radiator for the engine, for example, isn’t covered — and neither are the bearings for RWD and FWD systems.
  • BaseCARE — covers 84 covered components, and includes the components that are covered under the PowertrainCARE plan. This plan adds steering, brakes, front suspension, A/C and heating, and electrical components to its list. Again, certain components aren’t protected, such as the anti-lock brake module.
  • ExtraCARE — covers 113 covered components, including everything in the above plans, plus additional coverage for your tech and convenience features. More advanced technologies, such as Ford SYNC® or rain sensing wipers, aren’t covered.
  • PremiumCARE — covers over 1,000 components of your Ford, which means anything not covered under the other three plans will more than likely be covered under this one.

Ford CPO Warranty: Ford Blue & Gold Certified Coverage

The Ford Certified Pre-Owned Program is divided into two tiers, which include Blue Certified and Gold Certified. When you choose a Ford CPO vehicle, you’ll get a Ford manufacturer warranty that covers the car for a specific period of time, depending on whether it’s Blue or Gold Certified. Here’s a quick look at the CPO Ford warranty for used vehicles below:

  • Blue Certified Warranty — includes a 90-Day/4,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Comprehensive Limited Warranty and a 14-Day/1,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Money Back Guarantee.
  • Gold Certified Warranty — includes a 7-Year/100,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Powertrain Limited Warranty and a 14-Day/1,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Money Back Guarantee.
