Bronco Door Options – Which is Best?

There are many pros and cons to each of the Ford Bronco options. Of course, there are multiple trim packages to choose from. However, one major thing that you should consider before buying a Ford Bronco, would be the 2 door vs 4 door debate. Choosing between having 2 doors or 4 doors can be a big decision, but it all comes down to your needs. Today, we will talk about the pros and cons of each.

The Back Seat

The back seats of the two door and four door Bronco have many differences. First, the two door back seat does not have a middle seat. The two back seats are just a little bit wider than they are in the four door. As for the four door, there is a middle seat in the back, that has a seatbelt for a potential 5th passenger. The largest problem with the middle seat however, is that it is pretty small; making it tough for a third adult to sit there. There also is a lot less leg room for that middle seat passenger. However, it would be a great place for a child or small adult to sit. As for the leg room for the two main seats, in the 2 door, there is more leg room in the back than there is in the 4 door.

Next, in the 2 door, you have to lean the front seats forward for you to be able to climb into the back seat. Conveniently, there is a handle at the top of the front seats to pull, to then get into the back. As for the 4 door, you can just get in the back seat through the door.

In the four door Bronco, the back seats have 2 different locking positions. You can recline a few inches back in the second locking position, or stay in the upward position. In the two door, this is not an option; as it does not have this feature.

The Front

Aside from the obvious number of doors on each model, the doors on the 2 door are much different than they are on the 4 door. On the 2 door, the doors themselves are actually much larger than they are on the 4 door. There is a lot more space for the arm rests, as where on the four door, they are much smaller.

Next, the windows are much larger in the 2 door than the 4 door. You have a much larger field of vision in the two door, since there is no need for spacing between the front and back doors.

Finally, the leg room in the 2 door is larger than it it is in the 4 door because there is no need to make more space for a second row of doors. So, if you are a taller person, it may be more beneficial to you to get a two door Bronco, rather than the four door.

Trunk Space

The trunk space in the 4 door is much larger than it is in the 2 door Bronco. With the seats up, there is 16 more cubic feet in the 4 door than in the 2 door. When the seats are folded down, there is 32 more cubic feet of space available in the trunk in the 4 door.

When it comes to folding the seats down, the driver’s seat in the 2 door has to come forward for the back seats to fold down. In the 4 door, you don’t need to move the driver’s seat, but you do have to go to the back seats and pull the handle to fold the seats down. The back seats in the four door cannot be folded down from the trunk.

Taking The Top Off

When taking the top off of your Bronco, the two door is a little easier to pull off than the 4 door is. With the two door, you only have two pieces to pull off; the front pice and the trunk piece. As where in the 4 door, you have to pull off three pieces; the front, the back, and trunk piece.

Which Is Better?

So, which is better, the two door, or the four door Bronco? Well, it really comes down to your wants and needs. If you need more trunk space, the four door is the way to go. Want a larger field of vision? The two door will fit those needs better than the four door will. Ultimately, it comes down to your lifestyle and what you plan on using your Ford Bronco for.
