Ford Peanut Butter Drive

Whitefish Ford, Kalispell Ford, and Ford Motor Company Kick off Peanut Butter Drive to Help Fight Child Hunger in the Flathead Valley and Beyond

Kalispell, Montana, May 6, 2017 - Whitefish Ford and Kalispell Ford, in conjunction with the Ford Focus on Child Hunger campaign, will be collecting jars of peanut butter to support the summer demand for kid-friendly foods at the North Valley Food Bank and the Flathead Food Bank.

The peanut butter drive, which runs from May 6-15, is in response to the increased demand for this expensive staple during the summer months, when many children lose access to school nutrition programs. It is estimated nearly 24% of children are unsure how their next meal will be provided and when school is out during the summer months, local food banks carry a larger responsibility to feed kids. Peanut butter is an important protein staple to feed kids during these summer months, but is difficult to acquire in adequate quantities.

To make a donation, bring jars of peanut butter to Whitefish Ford, 6331 US HWY 93 South in Whitefish or Kalispell Ford, 1177 East Idaho St in Kalispell, between the hours of 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Whitefish Ford and Kalispell Ford are also proud to partner with Super 1 Foods in Kalispell, Evergreen, Columbia Falls, and Whitefish.  Shoppers at these local stores will have the opportunity to donate a jar of peanut butter while checking out.  Last year's drive collected more than 30,000 lbs. of peanut butter, feeding kids throughout the summer. Those unable to donate in person can also give online at www.fordfeedskids.org by clicking on the food bank of their choice to make a cash donation.

This drive is part of a five-state campaign in the Pacific Northwest by Ford dealers to support their community food banks and to make sure no child goes hungry this summer. Started in 2013, the Ford Focus on Child Hunger has provided more than 1 million meals and snacks to hungry kids in the Pacific Northwest.
